Another windstorm may be coming to parts of Vancouver Island.

One day after the destructive windstorm that left one person dead and thousands without power across Vancouver Island, Environment Canada has issued more wind warnings parts of the island.

North Vancouver Island, west Vancouver Island and east Vancouver Island, from Courtenay to Campbell River and Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay, are all under a wind warning.

The weather agency said a strong Pacific frontal system is gradually approaching the coast.

Southeast winds up to 80 km/h are expected to develop over exposed coastal sections of west Vancouver Island late Saturday. Winds are expected to ease in that area by Saturday night.

On north Vancouver Island, southeast winds of 90 km/hr are expected to develop over exposed coastal sections Saturday morning. These winds are expected to persist through the day, but ease off in the early evening.

Environment Canada said on east Vancouver Island, southeast winds of 70 km/h are predicted over exposed coastal sections from Nanoose Bay to Campbell River late Saturday afternoon. The winds should ease Saturday night as the front system moves inland.
