WATCH: The Gary Taylor Classic draws some of the best boys high school basketball players to the Capital City to compete.
The tournament kicked off today at Oak Bay High School despite the weather conditions wreaking havoc on the traveling teams from the Lower Mainland. The Oak Bay Bays senior boys team has been formidable in this tournament for the past few years, and they got the tournament started on the right foot; taking down the West Vancouver Highlanders 100-60. Grade 12 guard Diego Maffia was outstanding, he had 32 points, including seven three-pointers at the half before seeing reduced minutes in the second half.
The tournament continues through Friday evening, before wrapping up Saturday night.
