Nanaimo RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a woman who was last seen at the Victoria International Airport in Sidney.

Forty-five-year-old Laura Huebner was reported missing by her family on April 29.

She is confirmed to have arrived at the Victoria International Airport from a flight from Saskatchewan on April 24 then is believed to have travelled to Nanaimo later that day, according to RCMP.

There have since been no confirmed sightings of Huebner, and her family is concerned for her safety.

“They’re extremely concerned for her safety and well-being. It is out of character,” said Const. Gary O’Brien with Nanaimo RCMP.

Sidney RCMP initially opened a missing person case, but it has since been handed over to Nanaimo RCMP.

A social media post says Laura Huebner texted this picture to her father on April 25.

Police escorted a sail boat into a dock along Nanaimo’s waterfront Monday where police appeared to be guarding it Tuesday. Police tarped the boat as it started to rain.

“At this point, we’re not confirming any more details on the investigation,” said O’Brien.

A social media post from a family member says they’re growing increasingly worried as time goes on.

Huebner is described as a Caucasian woman, 5’8″, 140 pounds, and was last seen wearing a white jacket, white hoodie and blue jeans.

If anyone has information about Huebner’s whereabouts, they are asked to call Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file # 2022-14432.
