According to a May 16 notice on Sobey’s website, an employee working at Thrifty Foods on Mill Bay Road in Mill Bay recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee’s last day working at the store was May 8.
Sobey’s, the parent company of Thrifty Foods, does not disclose when employees tested positive, saying instead that they work with public health to support those who become infected.
“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” reads a statement on the company’s website.
