Man wanted for warrants in Nanaimo and Vancouver arrested by West Shore Mounties

West Shore RCMP says it arrested “a chronic offender” who was wanted for warrants on the Island and lower mainland.

The arrest of 24-year-old Jesse Shiner happened Saturday, wanted by Nanaimo RCMP in relation to fraud, possessing a forged credit card and breach of probation.

Police say warrants had been issued in Vancouver against Shiner for forcible confinement, uttering threats against a person and assault with a weapon.

West Shore RCMP Cst. Nancy Saggar said in a statement the detachment’s Crime Reduction Unit received information on Shiner’s whereabouts and police began surveillance of him.

Shiner was arrested without incident and officer’s found break and enter tools on him at the time of the arrest.

Saggar says Shiner was arrested for breaching his conditions, along with the outstanding warrants.

West Shore RCMP says Shiner remains in custody.
