A man wanted by West Shore RCMP for various sexual offences is in custody after being arrested in the Saanich Peninsula Tuesday.
West Shore RCMP issued a release last Friday asking for the public’s help to locate Richard Tom, who had outstanding warrants issued for his arrest.
Tom was located Tuesday and Sidney/North Saanich RCMP helped take him into custody.
West Shore RCMP says the warrant for Tom was issued for four counts of sexual interference, three counts of sexual assault and one count of invitation to sexual touching.
Police say no further details are being provided with a publication ban in effect.
RCMP is thanking media and the public for sharing the original release that helped generate tips on Tom’s whereabouts.
