One person is in hospital with serious injuries and another is in custody following a stabbing in Colwood on Thursday, according to West Shore RCMP.

On Feb. 2, around 5 p.m., officers were called to a report of a stabbing at a house in the 500-block of Windthrop Road, police said in a news release Friday.

When Mounties arrived on scene, they found a 47-year-old man suffering from a single stab wound, while the alleged suspect, a 19-year-old man, was also on scene and arrested for aggravated assault.

Police did not disclose what the man was stabbed with.

Paramedics transported the victim to hospital, where he is receiving care for serious, non-life-threatening injuries, said police. The suspect, meanwhile, remains in custody.

Photos captured by CHEK News show the house behind police tape and several RCMP cruisers on scene.

Cpl. Nancy Saggar, media relations officer at West Shore RCMP, says police don’t believe the public is at risk. “No other victims were identified in this crime,” she said in a statement Friday.

RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is now investigating.
