Campbell River RCMP is looking for a female in a disturbance where officers responded to reports that a knife was involved Thursday night.

A call came around 7:30 p.m. and officers went to an apartment building in the 600-block of Ninth Avenue for an altercation between a man and a woman, both known to each other and police.

The responding officers found a man who was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP say he remains in custody because of an ongoing investigation, and officers would like to speak with the woman involved who left the scene before police arrived.

“We’d like to thank the public for their ongoing assistance in this investigation,” Campbell River RCMP Cst. Maury Tyre said in a statement.

“The RCMP would like to ensure the public that this was an isolated incident between two individuals who are known to one another and there is no threat to the general public at large.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Campbell River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
