A 35-year-old man is in custody after a stabbing in Campbell River last Friday.

At 7 p.m. on April 5, Campbell River RCMP were called to the Campbell River General Hospital for a report of a man who had been stabbed.

Police said they determined the man was assaulted at an apartment building the 600 block of 9th Avenue and stabbed in the back. He was treated for minor injuries and later released from hospital.

Officers went to the home and arrested the suspect without incident. Police said the victim and the suspect are known to each other. The suspect was remanded and appeared in court Monday, police said. Campbell River RCMP have not released the suspect’s name.
