A police dog was used to track a suspect accused of assaulting a woman in an Oak Bay Park.
A man fled from police after allegedly assaulting a woman in Bowker Creek Park, according to Oak Bay police.
Witnesses saw the man attack the woman in the park Monday at around 6 p.m., causing the woman to scream, police said.
Residents living near the park called police, who arrived immediately.
The man allegedly ran away from them, through several backyards.
Police then formed a perimeter around an area and a police dog was deployed to track the man, who was found hiding on top of a shed.
The man was then arrested without incident.
Charges including assault are pending against him.
