A man once shot by police for bringing weapons into a Victoria hospital has been arrested for doing the exact same thing at the very same hospital.

According to the Victoria Police Department, officers arrested a man at Royal Jubilee Hospital on the morning of April 30 after staff discovered he was carrying weapons.

VicPD says he is the same man who officers shot and wounded in March after he entered Royal Jubilee armed with a knife. In that incident, which was the first Victoria Police officer-involved shooting in six years, the department says the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

This time around, however, they say the man was not shot but arrested without incident and taken into custody.

The department says the incident is currently under investigation.
