With Malahat construction already the cause of slowing traffic, a fender-bender near Goldstream Provincial Park made matters worse for southbound drivers.

West Shore RCMP says no injuries are reported after a vehicle rear-ended another at Ice Cream Mountain around 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, which closed the southbound lanes for a short time.
Although the cars were cleared from the area, ensuing delays backed up traffic between Goldstream and the Malahat Summit.
Planned roadwork between Aspen Road and Shawnigan Lake is taking place, with intermittent road closures expected in both lanes between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays.
The area with the heaviest back-up at 8:30 a.m. is a stretch of highway around Shawnigan Lake Road.
