It’s going to be a windy Saturday in Greater Victoria.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a wind warning for the region, alerting to the possibility of wind speeds reaching as high as 90 km/h in some parts of Greater Victoria later today.
The weather agency says that a pacific frontal system will move across the south coast today and in its wake, westward winds are expected to hit 50 km/h gusting to 70 km/h in Greater Victoria and as high as 90 km/h near Juan De Fuca.
“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds,” Environment Canada said in a statement on its website.
High winds are expected throughout the day but should end after midnight.
