If you’re a passionate gardener, then you might be interested in joining the Vancouver Island Rock and Alpine Garden Society, also known as VIRAGS.
“We’re a group of plant lovers who tend to focus on the more difficult, more special, more rare, maybe more challenging plants to grow,” says Paul Spriggs, president of the club.
The club, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, offers hands-on learning and virtual workshops due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re the oldest rock gardening club in the world, and we’re based here in Victoria,” says Spriggs.
The Vancouver Island Rock and Alpine Garden Society is happy to welcome new members.
