Power has been restored to nearly 3,200 B.C. Hydro customers after a late Friday morning outage after wires were knocked down in Saanich, Victoria and Oak Bay. 822 are expected to get electricity back up by 2:30 p.m.

UPDATE: Power is back on for more than 4,000 B.C. Hydro customers in Saanich, Victoria and Oak Bay.

At 11 a.m., wires down caused more than 4,000 customers to lose electricity. By 2:15 p.m., power was back on in all areas that were affected by the outage.

ORIGINAL STORY: B.C. Hydro crews are working to restore power to 4,000 customers in Victoria, Saanich and Oak Bay after wires came down late Friday morning.

Power was knocked out around 11 a.m. and crews were en route.

The outage stretches Borden Street, just east of Quadra Street, east to the water.

There is no estimated time when power will be restored.
