WatchCalgary police and RCMP are looking for 20-year old Jordan Jay Ward who they believe may be in the Comox Valley area.

Mounties in the Comox Valley say a man wanted in connection with a double murder in Calgary could be here on Vancouver Island.

Two other suspects have already been charged but the third could be in the Courtenay area.

Comox Valley RCMP say tips have come in from the public after releasing a picture of 20-year-old Jordan Jay Ward who is wanted by Calgary Police.

Ward is wanted on two counts of manslaughter in relation to a double homicide that happened on August 28 in the community of Sandstone.

Information had initially been provided to the RCMP that he had been seen on a logging road somewhere in the Comox Valley.

“He was allegedly seen here on one of our rural logging roads in the Comox Valley so we’re just asking the public to keep an eye out,” said Comox Valley RCMP Constable Monika Terragni. “We’re releasing his picture, if you have seen him give us a call and let us know where.”

Several new tips have come into police but have not been substantiated.

Police aren’t saying how the original tip came in and are not being specific about what logging road he was seen on.

“When he was allegedly seen in our area he was described as wearing some green army type clothes and riding a dark coloured bicycle,” stated Terragni. “At this point, we don’t know if he has any community connections to the Valley.”

Police say if anyone sees the suspect do not approach him, but call Comox Valley RCMP at 250-338-1321 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
