Melida Gus credits her family and her two boys for inspiring her to break the cycle and pave the way for a better future.

Melida Gus, a member of the Tseshaht and Siksika First Nation, has disrupted a pattern of pain, grief, and struggle in her family. Calling her two boys the “cycle breakers,” Gus has established her own business, Bright Smile Clear Skin, on Goldstream Avenue a year and a half ago, and already has a loyal and robust clientele.

Gus attributes her success to her grandmother who taught her the key to success: education.

She credits her family and her two boys for inspiring her to break the cycle and pave the way for a better future.

Now, the single mom is looking to expand her business and continue to grow her entrepreneurial success. With her warm smile and friendly greeting, Gus welcomes every customer into her salon, creating a welcoming and inviting environment for all.
