Festival-goers who were hoping to attend one of the biggest annual concerts on Vancouver Island will have to wait until next year as Laketown Shakedown has been cancelled for the second time due to COVID-19.

The summer festival announced this week that it will not be hosting an event this summer, but rather postponing things until June 30-July 2, 2022.

Pass-holders who choose to roll-over their passes will have the festival and camping honoured for the new dates next year.

Any festival-goer who had purchased passes for this summer, and is hoping to receive a full refund, will be offered a money-back opportunity for 14 days they receive an email from Front Gate ticketing with your options.

“Although we had hoped to not have to do this once again, we, unfortunately, must announce Laketown Shakedown will not be taking place again this summer. Laketown Shakedown has been rescheduled to June 30 – July 2, 2022, and we will announce our 2022 lineup when it is ready,” reads a statement from organizers.

“We looked forward to seeing your smiling faces enjoying the festival and many talented acts we had scheduled for 2021. Now our work continues to prepare for 2022! Let’s all do our part and get through these last few hurdles together so we can get back to the normal we all miss so much,” the statement continues.

The lineup that was announced for 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold included Ludacris, Wu-Tang Clan, Third Eye Blind and Nelly.
