The owners of Yellow Point Farms in Ladysmith fear one of their baby goats may have been stolen during a public event on Saturday.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, they write “It is with utter shock and disbelief that I have to post this… but HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GOAT?”

It goes on to explain that the public was invited to the farm on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. for baby goat schnuggles, and more than 50 people attended, one of the best turnouts they’ve had.

“However, after the event we noticed this goat was missing! He was there before it started, and not there after.”

They explain that they searched for hours on Saturday and again on Sunday, but could find no sign of him. The space he was in is small with few places to hide, and there were no predators around.

“He is only 12-days old and needs his mama’s milk. She has been crying for him and it is breaking our hearts.”

The farm’s owners are asking people to be on the lookout for the kid.

“He is very recognizable with his gold colour, blue eyes, and many moonspots, plus a belt of white on his left side.”

They say he can be returned with no questions asked, “just drop him in a box or even put him out in the front pasture.”

The incident has left them seriously questioning if they’ll continue to open up the farm to the public.
