A jogger died Wednesday after being struck by a car on Gabriola Island.
RCMP said the collision happened at around 8:20 a.m. on Berry Point Road near the Twin Beaches Mall.
According to police, a man was running in a group when he was struck by a vehicle. He was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and was co-operative with police. Investigators said the vehicle crossed over both traffic lanes before hitting the jogger.
The investigation is ongoing. The road was closed for several hours after the crash but was later reopened.
