Island Health says two renovation projects for West Coast General Hospital (WCGH) in Port Alberni will provide more space for mothers and infants and prescribed drugs are prepared to the highest quality and safety standards.
A two-patient room will be completed in the Labour, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum (LDRP) unit and changes to the pharmacy will include a sterile preparation room and new flooring.
WCGH Site Director Pam Rardon says the investment will enhance the hospital’s ability to care for patients.
The value of the projects is estimated to be $650,000 and are set to begin in June and take about four months to complete.
