Three more COVID-19 outbreaks at long-term care facilities within the Island Health region have been declared over.

Vancouver Island’s health authority says that the outbreaks at Sunridge Place in Duncan, Sluggett House in Brentwood Bay and The Heights at Mt. View in Victoria have all come to an end.

At Sunridge Place, 23 residents and two staff cases were attributed to the outbreak.

At Sluggett House, Island Health says seven staff cases and two resident cases were reported as part of this outbreak.

And at Mt. View, three residents and two staff members tested positive.

“Staff are to be commended for continuing to deliver high-quality, compassionate care while diligently following outbreak protocols,” says Island Health.

Outbreak protocols will now be ended at the sites, however, enhanced infection prevention and control measures and monitoring of residents, patients and staff for symptoms will continue.
