An outbreak of the novel coronavirus at a long-term care home on Vancouver Island officially over.
Island Health declared the COVID-19 outbreak at Wexford Creek long-term care facility over on Saturday afternoon.
The outbreak was first declared on Feb. 14, after a single staff member tested positive for the deadly virus.
There were no other cases identified in residents or staff at the facility, according to Island Health.
” The team at Wexford and Park Place Seniors Living is to be commended for their exceptional work ensuring no residents were affected by this outbreak and continuing to provide high-quality care under challenging circumstances,” the health authority said in a statement released to the media.
Wexford Creek, located on Tenth Street in Nanaimo, is owned and operated by Park Place Seniors Living.
