Island athletes continue medal haul at Canada Summer Games

Island athletes impressed both on the water and on land Tuesday in Winnipeg at the 2017 Canada Summer Games.

In diving, Colwood’s Bryden Hattie won a silver medal in the Men’s 1M Springboard competition. On the women’s side, Metchosin’s Coral Strugnell took home bronze in the Women’s 3M Springboard.

In athletics, Sam Willet of Saanich captured gold in the hammer throw.

Team BC sits second behind Ontario in the overall medal standings.
