The Independent Investigations Office of is hopeful witnesses will come forward in their investigation into a fatal Qualicum Beach incident.
On the morning of October 12 at around 6:00 am, RCMP responded to a report of a male in distress in the 39000 block of Inland Island Highway.
There was a struggle between the male and officers and the man was shot.
The man did not survive his injuries and two officers were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

IIO investigators were at the scene and have been interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, interviewing officers and reviewing medical reports.
