Staff at Journey Middle School in Sooke have removed chalk graffiti that was found Tuesday morning on the side of the school.

A statement on the school’s website says three of the messages were inappropriate.

School staff followed protocols to take pictures and have the messages removed. All of the messages have been forwarded to police.

According to the school district, staff and police do not feel the threats are serious, but add some students could feel anxious.

Parents have reported to CHEK News the messages include “don’t come to school on November 8th,” along with some profanity and other threats, and some students are not going to school Wednesday.

An announcement was made to students to come forward with any information.
