A Victoria man faces more than 50 charges including trafficking, possession of stolen property and identify theft after being arrested last week.

Police say officers with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team and the Community Services Division executed a search warrant at a multi-residential facility in the 800-block of Johnson Street just before 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 4th.

The search warrant came after several days’ investigation which linked the suspect to drug dealing.

Officers found the door open and the suspect inside,  he was arrested without incident and the suite was searched.

They found hundreds of items that they believe to be stolen, as well as over 10 grams of cocaine, 7 grams of methamphetamine, 6 grams of marijuana, over 20 grams of heroin/fentanyl and more than $25,000 in cash.

Officers also discovered dozens of stolen pieces of personal identification.

Police say they’ve been able to connect some of the items with thefts from vehicles in both Victoria and Saanich, and are working to locate and identify others whose personal identification has been recovered.

VicPD are also trying to track down the rightful owners of the many items recovered that they believe were stolen.

If you recognize any of the recovered items or have information about these incidents, please call the VicPD non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
