The Victoria Symphony is preparing to make a big splash at one of the largest outdoor classical music events in North America.

The 29th Annual Victoria Symphony Splash kicks off at 7:30 p.m. tonight from Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

The 56-piece orchestra will take over the floating stage with a line-up of classical and modern tunes.

The performance finishes with a fireworks display accompanied by the symphony’s rendition of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

Danish conductor Christian Kluxen will return for his second year as conductor and music director.

One of the highlights of this year’s concert will include a performance by 17-year-old violist Danielle Tsao from Victoria.

More than 40,000 people are expected to attend the event.

Festivities begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Inner Harbour with live music, food and other activities.

CHEK  News will be live-streaming the entire performance on our Facebook page beginning at 7:25 p.m.

Join live-stream host Ceilidh Millar for one-on-one interviews, exclusive giveaways and much more.
