Two schools in Nanaimo were in a hold and secure Thursday as RCMP responded to reports of a male in possession of several weapons.
Officers responded to John Barsby High School and Georgia Avenue Elementary.
The male was reported to be approaching the secondary school on foot and after consultation with senior administration at both schools, a hold and secure was put in place.
Nanaimo RCMP says at 2:40 p.m., the male in question and two other males were found in the 600-block of Bruce Avenue.
All three were taken into custody and no weapons were found.
The hold and secure was lifted and the three males were released with no charges.
The investigation continues and is asking for anyone with information to contact Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
