With the help of HMCS Nanaimo, the United States Coast Guard seized 478 kilograms of cocaine October 31 in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

After stopping a suspect vessel, the Nanaimo sent an inflatable boat with USCG enforcement to board the boat.

The suspects were taken into custody after cocaine was found packaged in small amounts and stored throughout the vessel.

The suspected smugglers were taken aboard a USCG cutter that was on patrol in the region.

Nanaimo resumed operations shortly after the incident.
