UPDATE: The delay to get traffic moving was much shorter, although delays are expected at Kennedy Lake on Highway 4.
The highway was closed around 8 p.m. for debris, but about 40 minutes later, Drive BC said the road was reopened to single-lane alternating traffic.
The debris closed the highway between Toquart Bay Road and Nahmit Forest Service Road.

It’s become a familiar problem, as drivers were caught a the closure for many hours Wednesday after overnight blasting brought down more rock than expected early in the morning.
Crews are working on a $40 million project to make the highway safer.
This is also the third time in a month the highway was shut down under similar circumstances.
Just over three weeks ago the highway was closed for 10 hours because of debris on the road.
