
Highway 19 (Inland Island Highway) in Comox Valley has reopened in both directions following a police incident, according to DriveBC.
The highway was closed for about 26 km, from Iron River Road south of Campbell River to Piercy Road north of Cumberland, said DriveBC in a notice around 4:30 p.m.
During the closure, drivers were urged to use an alternative route.
“Thank you for your patience,” added DriveBC in an update posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, around 5:30 p.m.
