Highway 14 in Jordan River open following closure due to downed power lines

Downed power lines  cut off Jordan River and Port Renfrew from the south Island Sunday afternoon.

Drive B.C. reported the closure at 4 a.m. and said at 5:46 p.m. that the road was open.

No detour is available was available during the closure.

About 470 were also without power in the area.

The only alternate route south for the two communities would require going through Cowichan Lake.
