Today marks the 28th annual CHEK Christmas Drive-Thru and Telethon, a fundraiser to help out families who are struggling on Vancouver Island.
While in past years, the drop-off event has been held in the CHEK parking lot, this year it will take place in three locations: the Salvation Army Citadel in Victoria, the Thrifty Foods Belmont parking lot and Steve Marshall Ford in Nanaimo, which will welcome donations from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday.
You can drop off cash, toys or food or also make a monetary donation at any time on the Salvation Army website here.
We’re back for day 2 of the @chek_news Christmas Drive Thru & Telethon. Call 1-877-255-4445 and you might just get to talk to Marsha the Moose! Or come by the Victoria Citadel today until 8pm to donate toys, food, or cash.#GivingHopeToday#CHEKChristmasDriveThru#TelethonOfHope pic.twitter.com/gpgMgrUHDf

CHEK News will broadcast live from the drop-off locations Friday night between 5 and 7 p.m.
Funds raised by the event will help The Salvation Army provide food and toys to local individuals and families in need this Christmas. These are especially important at this time of year, as families struggle with the extra costs involved with Christmas.
Thanks for donating and Merry Christmas!
