Environment Canada is warning that parts of East Vancouver Island are forecast to get heavy rain on Friday.
Starting in the morning and lasting until midnight, between 40 to 50 mm of rain is expected to fall between Qualicum Beach and Fanny Bay.
A Pacific frontal system is bringing rain to the Island on Friday, and it is expected to intensify in the afternoon.
“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible,” Environment Canada says in a rainfall warning.
