The Victoria HarbourCats defeated the Kelowna Falcons 11-5 tonight, to win the best-of-three game series 2-0 and advance to the WCL Final.

The HarbourCats hitters got to Falcons starting pitcher Andrew Alvarez early and often, as the Kelowna starter exited the game with just 4.1 innings of work, while giving up eight earned runs on eight hits and two walks, while striking out just two Victoria batters. Alvarez’s counterpart, Blake Hannah was able to let the HarbourCats defence do most of the work, as he pitched six solid innings, giving up just one earned run on four hits, with just one strikeout. It was a huge day at the plate for HarbourCats slugger Po-Hao Huang, who went 3-4 with a three run home run, a two RBI single, another base hit and a walk on the evening. The HarbourCats would ride on the offensive outbreak from Huang to force the Falcons to their bullpen early, and close out the series in a two game sweep.

The HarbourCats now await the winner of the South Division series, where the Corvallis Knights and Yakima Valley Pippins are currently tied at one game a piece, game three of that series goes tomorrow night.
