Employees working at a grocery store in the Comox Valley have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to notices posted on Sobey’s website, at least two employees at Thrifty Foods on Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay recently tested positive for COVID-19.

The employees last worked at the Courtenay grocery store on Feb. 20 and Feb. 23.

Sobey’s, which owns Thrifty Foods, does not disclose when its employees tested positive, saying instead that they work with public health to support those who become infected.

“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” reads a statement on the company’s website.
