In this episode of Get Up and Grow, CHEK’s Hannah Lepine and Gord Nickel, president of Wildwood Outdoor Living Centre, talk about a couple different types of trees to help with privacy.
Gord first shows Hannah Cercis Canadensis, or Redbud, and tells her how these roughly 20 to 30-foot trees will give you privacy and shade but also add some colour to your yard. The mauve-pink blossoms will last about two to three weeks.
They then talk about the Japanese Snowbell tree, a white, bell-shaped flowered tree with dark green foliage in early summer. This tree is smaller, making it perfect for a patio.
Lastly, Gord shows Hannah one other option, a Southern Magnolia, with beautiful, big white blossoms.
