The special weather statement for east, north, west and inland Vancouver Island has ended, but people may still see some wet flurries Thursday night and Friday.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Thursday morning for east, north, west and inland Vancouver Island, with snow expected. By Thursday afternoon, the weather statement had been lifted.

The statement said a cold front is approaching the south coast and temperatures will drop.

Environment Canada says Friday will be a very unsettled day for weather in the province. Wet flurries are possible on some parts of the island on Friday, including Port Hardy and Comox. The Greater Victoria area may see up to two centimetres of snow over higher terrain.
