Ray Bernoties of Oak Bay Police says the driver was sober and all five were wearing seatbelts, adding the outcome could have been much worse if seat belts were not worn.
Bernoties says the ages of the occupants are not confirmed, but all are believed to be around 16-years-old.
Police are investigating the rollover, and Bernoties says speed will be looked into.

Bernoties says this is a reminder for people to use caution as they drive during the Victoria Day long weekend, reporting 290 crashes on Vancouver Island roads during the same weekend two years ago.
