Firefighters battled a blaze at a golf cart storage shed at the Mount Brenton Golf Club in Chemainus Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters from both the Chemainus, Crofton and Ladysmith fire departments responded to the Chemainus golf course on Henry Road after a fire broke at the shed at around 3:38 p.m. When crews arrived, the structure was fully engulfed.

The fire also spread to the trees directly behind the structure as well as to 4 vehicles parked nearby.

Witnesses say smoke from the fire could be seen in the sky over a wide area.
