A Sooke man who died in a tree falling accident a week ago is being remembered as a loving father who cherished his family and friends.
Cam Sullivan, 29, died at a workplace accident at a worksite at Eaglecrest Drive in Sooke on Dec. 17. The accident occurred at approximately 9 a.m. and the BC Coroners Service said it involved a tree that fell.
Sullivan’s friend Angus Danielson wrote on a GoFundMe page that Sullivan was doing work that he loved.
According to Danielson, Sullivan was less than a month shy of his 30th birthday.
“Cam was kind, spontaneous, brilliant, funny and always put his family first. He had a smile that was contagious and could light up a room,” Danielson wrote.
Danielson also wrote that Sullivan loved the outdoors and could often be found in the bush with his family and friends.
“He truly cherished his family and friends; they were a very important part of his life. Cam leaves behind his young family who he loved beyond words. He was so excited and proud to become a dad to his daughter who became his whole world,” Danielson wrote.
Andy Watson, the BC Coroners Service strategic communications manager, confirmed they are investigating a workplace accident death involving a man in his late 20s. WorkSafeBC is also investigating.
