Saanich Fire Department is investigating after a series of fires were sparked Friday night, one threatening the Staples near Mayfair Mall.
Anna-Theresa Bates was driving home with Richard Bates when they noticed a fire outside the Saanich business on the 700-block of Tolmie Avenue.
They quickly called 911 and notified employees, who were able to put out the blaze with an extinguisher.
Saanich fire says once they arrived around 9:30 p.m. they made sure the flames were out. They are also investigating a series of other fires set that night.
