WatchElk and coffee: CHEK viewer shares video of large herd of elk in her backyard on Thursday morning
A CHEK news viewer has sent in a great video of a large herd of elk that they woke up to discover in their backyard near Lake Cowichan on Thursday morning.
“Great to see the Bull Elk make sure all got away safely, including the youngest, when he realized we were there,” they write.
The video shows roughly 18 elk gathered in the yard, they seem to suddenly decide its time to move on.
The majority of the elk can be seen hopping a fence in succession.
The bull and one cow do seem to linger to make sure no one is left behind, including what appears to be the youngest, who eventually finds a way around the fence and joins the rest of the herd.
The video was shot this morning, but the viewer did not want to reveal the exact location.
