An education fund has been established for the young daughter of a 35-year old Lantzville man killed in a car crash on Highway 19 near Parksville.

Norman Saunders was the lone occupant of the vehicle that went off the road and down an embankment between Corcan Road and Horne Lake Road around 8:15 p.m. on June 3rd.

A Gofundme page set up in his memory reads,

“Norm was a loving son, grandson, and friend, but most importantly he was a father to a beautiful 8-year-old girl, Hailey. If you knew Norm, you know that his daughter was the absolute light of his life.”

It was decided the best way to honour him would be to set up a future education fund for his daughter.

“In the wake of this tragedy, I hope that we can all come together, in honour of Norm, and help Hailey have the future education she deserves.”

The money will be held in trust by Hailey’s guardian until she is 18-years-old.
