Duncan RCMP searching for missing man last seen May 2

RCMP say Joseph Alexander Smith, 42, was last seen in Duncan on Tuesday, May 2.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are calling on the public for help as they search for a missing man last seen nearly a week ago.

Joseph Alexander Smith, 42, was last seen in Duncan on Tuesday, May 2, around 3:30 p.m., according to Mounties in a news release.

At the time, Smith was wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt, a dark-coloured vest, dark-colour sweatpants and Air Jordan shoes. He’s known to travel in a black 2006 Chevrolet Colorado four-door truck with a back rack and licence plate BR8964.

RCMP say Smith, who stands at 5’9″, weighs 225 lbs. and has a dark-coloured, mohawk-style haircut, “has not been in contact with family/friends since May 2 and police and family are concerned for his wellbeing.”

Anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts or who has seen his truck is asked to call the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
