A Vancouver Island man linked to a notorious speeding video was taken to hospital following a crash involving a Lamborghini.
West Shore RCMP say they received a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a black Lamborghini on Latoria Drive near Klahanie Drive in Colwood at around midnight on Oct. 10.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as factors and speed could have been a factor, but West Shore RCMP said they could not determine whether it was in this case.
The driver was taken to hospital with injuries but is expected to recover according to West Shore RCMP, who said the driver told them there were pedestrians on the road and that they swerved to avoid them.
Although West Shore RCMP did not identify the driver, Randy Scott, a Langford man connected to a viral motorcycle video, recently posted photos on Facebook showing a totalled black Lamborghini.
He also said on Facebook that there were a bunch of people on the road and that he swerved in order to avoid hitting them.
Speaking to CHEK News, Scott said he was the only one in the vehicle and that he was taken to hospital following the collision, adding that he is now at home recovering.
Earlier this year, Scott told CHEK he was pulled over in a black Lamborghini Gallardo by Victoria Police Department chief Del Manak. The vehicle was impounded, although Scott claimed he was not driving.
In 2013, Scott was acquitted of dangerous driving charges in a B.C. provincial court after a video showing a motorcycle going 299 km/h on the Trans-Canada Highway in 2013 went viral.
Scott is also the same man who pleaded guilty in provincial court to feeding bears along the Alaska Highway in 2016.
