Driver in Oyster River hits pedestrian, leaves scene

The Oyster River Fire Department responded to a hit and run near the Highway 19A and Glenmore Road intersection Saturday around 1:30 p.m.

Bruce Green, chief of the Oyster River Fire Department tells CHEK News by the time fire crews arrived, the driver had left.

Fire crews found a pedestrian had been hit and was laying in the middle of Glenmore Road with facial lacerations, and bruising on his chest, arms, and knees.

The man was taken to the hospital in Campbell River by ambulance.
