WATCH: Days after an apparent online confession in the case, the father of a murdered Saanich woman believes a potentially crucial piece of evidence has turned up in Victoria. Isabelle Raghem reports.

The father of murdered Lindsay Buziak says a dress may be the key to solving her murder.

“I got a call from a friend of ours, of Lindsay’s,  who said they’d shopped at Value Village and found the dress and bought it,” said Jeff Buziak Saturday.

The dress purchased at last week is a red and white, patterned dress. The same description as the dress believed to have been worn by one of the two suspected murderers.

“I think there’s a high possibility it is [the dress]. It’s an exact replica, bought used, it doesn’t get any closer than that without somebody walking forward saying I did the murder and this is the dress I used,” said Buziak

Saanich police have yet to pick up the dress. Jeff Buziak says he’s been told an officer won’t be available until Monday to grab it.

“It’s very frustrating. I understand they [police] have lives, but for us on the other side, this is the most important thing.”

The purchase comes less than a week after a post written on a website created by Jeff Buziak, showed a written confession that started with, ‘I killed Lindsay and stupid cops will never prove it so you all got nothin.’

“We need to move this forward. I do not want to come out and do a 2018 walk for justice. I’m tired of that and I want this resolved,” said Buziak.

Feb. 2, 2018, will mark a decade since the Saanich murder.
