West Shore RCMP says a cyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a sedan driver in View Royal on Sunday.
Around 4:45 p.m., officers were called to the collision at the Island Highway and Burnside Road West intersection.
Frontline and traffic unit officers learned the 21-year-old driver had hit a 55-year-old cyclist.
BC Emergency Health Services took the cyclist to the hospital for his life-threatening injuries.
The Burnside Road West eastbound lanes were closed for hours while officers investigated, including a collision reconstructionist. The cause is still under investigation, but police say drugs and alcohol are not factors for the driver.
